The other day I did Miss D's Christmas photo's in my new studio. She was the first one to use it besides my family and I had some fun with her. She was so cute and her mommy brought a few cute Christmas outfits. I think every baby should have 'first Christmas pictures' since it is the greatest holiday ever. She was definitely intrigued at all the ornaments and wreaths and enjoyed trying to eat them. Here are a few of the pictures I got of her.

Chelsey asked me to do her family's photo's as they were in need of some new updated pictures. She also asked if at the same time I could take a few pictures of her and her friend. Chelsey and her parents attend our church so it was nice to get to know them a little bit more as I did this photo shoot.

I have to say that this picture above is actually my favorite. It makes me smile every time I see it!

Robb, Suesy and Miss M and Miss L ~ Family Session

A couple of weeks ago I met this family at Springbank park for a family session. They were so much fun to take pictures off. They were looking for candid family shots of themselves with their beautiful daughters. They wanted more natural pictures capturing their daughters personalities. It was so funny watching them because Miss M and Miss L reminded me of a girl version of my own boys. From the way they acted to the way Miss M took care of her little sister reminded me of my boys exactly. For having two daughters, Robb was such a good sport with them, letting Miss M dress him up with a boa. You can tell that Robb and Suesy have a great relationship with their daughters and its very evident in these pictures.

Little Miss C. ~ Newborn Session

A couple weeks ago I went and did a newborn session of Little Miss C at her home. She was so tiny and little and super sweet. It took a while for us (her mom and I) to get her to sleep. She didn't enjoy being naked and wanted to be snuggled up and held. I finally suggested to try a soother which she had never had before and she LOVED it! She did not want to give up her soother even when she was asleep. But we eventually got it out of her mouth to snap a few pictures at a time. Her mom, Natasha, is from Africa and moved her when she was in her teens. She loved the zebra print material that I had brought as it reminded her of her heritage. Natasha likes animal prints and so the zebra print material was used for a majority of the pictures. I love the zebra print material as it adds a lot of texture, design and interest to the picture. Natasha also isn't into the girlie girl foo foo so she opted not to use any head bands or frills. She wanted to keep the pictures looking more like them and their tastes which I totally agree. I like pictures that capture your true selves and your personality. Although she did like the purple in the diaper cover and hat I had brought so we did incorporate those into some pictures.

Little Miss A. and Little Mr. E ~ Newborn Twin Session

It was so much fun to have the opportunity to photograph newborn twins. Since I have a twin brother it's fun to see other boy/girl twins together at such a young age. It gives me a glimpse of what we were like when we were newborns. I took Lauren and Drew's maternity photo's here and couldn't wait to photograph these twins! I have to say that although twins are absolutely cute and adorable together...they kept waking each other up! haha.
If one was asleep the other was awake and if the other was awake the other one was asleep. It was too funny. But we got some great shots of them. Honestly, they are adorable! Little Miss A. is such a doll with small features and a delicate look, while her brother Mr. E. was bigger and definitely all boy. Even if these two were dressed identical you could never mix up them up. Lauren and Drew, thank you for asking me to photograph your precious newborns. They are so adorable and I am sure they will grow up to be great friends. I hope you love your pictures and enjoy them forever as they are only this little once. Here is a peak...

Little Miss A. ~ Newborn Session

Its so much fun to meet the little babies of the maternity photo sessions that I have done. This is little Miss A. whose parents I photographed for their maternity session (Katie and Rick). I really enjoyed meeting them during their maternity session and looked forward to doing their little girls newborn pictures. We weren't sure if Miss A. was going to sleep for us as she was giving us a little bit of a hard time at first. Here parents worked hard at getting her to sleep for me and once she was asleep we were able to get some really cute shots of her. She is such a doll and was so fun to work with.

Ryan, Amy and Two Little Boys ~ Family Session

I met this family for the first time last week when we met at Springbank Park here in London for a family photo shoot. Unfortunately it was a bit of a colder day, however little Mr. C didn't seem to mind. But I think baby Mr. C did although he did really good. I was trying to think of something to bring to the session that Mr. C would like to play with and that would keep his attention and so I thought of my own boys and realized that wooden trains are a little boys best friend (and sometimes a mommy's sanity)! Mr. C loved the trains and wouldn't put them down, but that was okay because I think they added something fun and family-ish (if thats a word) to the pictures. Here are a few of the pictures captured....Amy I hope you love them...these are just a few and their are more just for you.

Blue Eyed Boy ~ Family Session

This is the second family that I photographed while in Sarnia the other weekend, this is Mr. G and his parents. Every time I look at these pictures I just love looking at Mr. G's big blue eyes. I love the color of them and I love that he was dressed in a blue shirt that brought out the color of his blue eyes even more. Little Mr. G was such a good sport even though he was carted around the park and was seated on different things. He was very entertained with the apples and the leaves and we had a hard time getting a smile out of him, I think he was to focused on the new things around him. Little Mr. G was so sweet you could tell that his parents were so in love with him. I love watching parents that adore their children and sneak kisses on them whenever they get the chance.

Lollipops and Apples ~ Family Session

Last weekend I headed to Sarnia to do a couple photo shoots and this was one of the families I met up with. We chose a location that I wasn't very familiar with, but thought would be beautiful with Autumn colors. But as I was driving into Sarnia I realized that their trees hadn't turned colors quite like ours had so most of the leaves were either still green or on the ground. But we managed to find a few fall colors for the background. I had lots of fun and laughs with this family. The girls loved the colorful lollipops I had brought for them and little Mr. J was obsessed with the apples. He would not give up his apple for anything and just wanted to devour it. He had us all laughing with how he held the apple by the stem and was so funny trying to eat it. I had a hard time picking which pictures to post so here are a few I randomly chose...

Mother and Daughter Session

I am trying to catch up on blog posts. Its been a while since I have done one. I've been really busy with balancing photo shoots, my children, and my husbands busy schedule that I haven't had a lot of time to sit and write blog posts. Miss K is One!

Its been a while since I have posted on my blog. Its been a sick household and much going on. But I have found a few minutes tonight to blog a photo session. This session is of a little girl, Miss K, who turned one. We did this session at her home as her parents have a beautiful piece of property. Little Miss S. ~ Newborn Session

So its been a while since I have done a blog post. My internet has been down for over a week and is now back up thankfully! So I thought I would post a few pictures from Little Miss S.'s newborn photo shoot. She was about a month old and she did not want to miss a thing. I think she knew something was going on and didn't want to miss out on the action by sleeping. She reminded me of my little Luca who never wants to sleep either. So Miss S. was awake for the entire session, but that was okay. We got lots of great shots of her with her parents and her big wide eyes that were taking everything in. She was so sweet and had tons of dark hair and I enjoyed meeting her parents. They were such a sweet little family.

The Most Amazing Boys with Cute Hats!

So I made a couple hats for my boys and I had to take some pictures of them wearing them. Of course I bribed my oldest with "you can play at the park if I can take a couple pictures of you" and it worked. My boys are the best boys a mother could ask for. I am so in love with them. They bring such joy to our home and family and I couldn't imagine life without them. They keep me constantly laughing and are so cute together. They make me one happy mommy!!
Anyways, as some of you know I make crocheted hats and so here are a couple I recently made for my boys for the coming Fall/Winter season. I do sell them and so you are more than welcome to send me an email if you would like to purchase one.

Like Mother, Like Daughters - Family Session

This family session was a lot of fun. We got the perfect fall evening inbetween some not so nice rainy cold days so it worked out perfectly. The sun was out and peeking through the trees which made the trees look beautiful. It was an all girl family session with lots of laughter and chatting. It was fun to watch Chris with her daughters and the resemblance in personality was too funny. Being with Chris and her daughters reminded me a lot of when I was their age. Full of Beans, Jelly Beans that is - Family Session

I photographed this family last week and I can't say I have ever met a child that got so excited about Jelly Beans as Miss K. did when I showed her what I had for her. Her mom seemed a little worried before the shoot about getting her kids to sit still for pictures, so I came prepared with a jar full of jelly beans which I thought could be incorporated into the pictures since they were bright and colorful and playful.

I had the chance to go out the other night with the Enroute Leaders from North Park Community church. Enroute is the name of the young adults group at our church. We have amazing people running the young adults and I always enjoy my time with them when I get the chance. My husband asked me to bring my camera with me and take their pictures for the Enroute website. Here are the pictures I took of them. Katie and Rick - Maternity Session

Last week I photographed Katie and Rick who are expecting their first little one. I enjoyed meeting Katie and Rick and getting to know them. They are both teachers and I have to say that if my children's teachers are as nice as this couple I'll know my children are in good hands while at school.

For some reason lately it seems like all girls are being born right now. I am not sure why, but it always seems like it goes in waves. Katie is expecting a little girl and she agreed with me that it seems like an all girl season right now. My boys will be lucky boys when they are older if thats true haha.

This maternity session happened last week during the cool spell so the weather was beautiful. It wasn't too hot or humid like it has been. We were able to enjoy the cool weather as we walked around the park taking pictures. Here is a little peak at a few of the pictures I took. Lauren and Drew - Maternity Shoot

I read a quote one time that said "It's double the giggles and double the grins, and double the trouble if you're blessed with twins." ~Author Unknown. I thought it was a cute quote.
So if you just guessed that this couple is having twins you would be right. I photographed this couple last week and they are expecting twins, a boy and a girl. She was only 28 weeks along, but told me that she was already measuring at 41 weeks. Poor girl was uncomfortable and to make matters worse it was a hot muggy evening, I felt bad for her, but we found a little pool of water for her to stick her feet in and cool off. Its so neat to hear of boy and girl twins as I am also half of a boy/girl twin.
I enjoyed meeting Lauren and Drew and actually realized that we knew mutual people from good ole Sarnia. Its such a small world.
I had a hard time picking which pictures to post. I really liked all of them and eventually chose quite a few to post. Lauren and Drew I hope you enjoy your pictures and I am eager to meet your cute little twins. Lauren get as much rest as you can now and I pray the rest of your pregnancy and delivery go by fast and smoothly for you.

Green, Handsome Boys, and Tall Grasses

Two handsome little boys...what more could a mom ask for! Its been a while since I have done a post with pictures of my boys. I actually realized that I hadn't taken their pictures together in quite a while. I was waiting until Luca could sit up on his own and once he could do that I realized I had waited too long and is now off crawling and standing. I thought this week would be a good time to do them as I was in Sarnia for a few days and not much else to do. I found the perfect spot with tall grass and sand to do them and was hoping the warm evening sun would shine down on us. Of course no such luck and the sun disappeared on us. But we were already there and the boys were having fun playing with the tall grasses. But is it ever hard to capture a good picture of both boys together, especially when your their mom. Getting them both to look at me and smile was no easy feat. Josiah turns goofy when I point the camera at him and of course Luca was too mesmerized by the grass and sand to care about anything else. Luca is my outdoorsy boy and loves anything outside.
I bought a couple picture frames the other day to put in my livingroom and decided I wanted to put pictures of my boys in them. I however needed the pictures with lots of green in them so they are both wearing green shirts and the tall grasses added that touch of green that I wanted. I also didn't want close portrait shots of them...I wanted them farther away in the distance...that was my goal and purpose in doing these pictures. So without further adieu here are a few of the shots I got.

At the Beach with the Fields family - Family Session

I met the Fields family at the beach in Brights Grove last week for a family photo session. Originally the session wasn't supposed to be till later in the evening but it was calling for thunderstorms so we decided to head out a little earlier and beat the rain. Normally I prefer doing the sessions later in the evening when the sun is softer, but we had already rescheduled once because of bad weather. The beach was beautiful and the perfect place to take pictures and the Fields family showed up in all matching white and khaki outfits. It was perfect and they all looked great. Bill and Laura you have a beautiful family and I hope you enjoy your pictures.

Little Miss E - Newborn Session

I have a new little niece!! She is so adorable and sweet. I love her already and I enjoyed taking her pictures. Little Miss Molly (I call her that because her parents wouldn't tell me her name before she was born, so I have decided that is going to be her nickname). She was the cuddliest, curliest, sleepiest baby I have ever taken pictures of. She was six days new in these pictures and slept almost the entire time and was so limp and curly from sleep. I could have taken pictures of her all day! She is such a doll and I can't wait to watch her grow up. Phil and Stephanie enjoy your precious little girl and cherish every minute of watching her grow.

The other day I had the opportunity of photographing Little Miss B. She was two weeks new. Her parents were worried that she wasn't going to sleep for me, but with a little patience, feeding, and bum patting she finally fell into a nice deep sleep and then the magic was able to happen. Last week I photographed my sister-in-law and my brother. They are expecting their first little one any day now and we are so excited for them. They are going to be having a little girl, who I think I am going to name "Miss Molly" since they won't tell me the name they have actually chosen. "Miss Molly" has been a long awaited for little girl and will be very loved and probably spoiled rotten by all our family. We can't wait to meet you and your Auntie Bev is looking forward to lots of snuggles and cuddles when you are born. Okay so my children last night didn't give me the chance to post anymore pictures, so I am doing it now. Here are a few more pictures from my newborn session with little Miss D. I had fun doing these pictures of her. I really like her parents and so spending all the time that was needed to get some good shots was enjoyable. It also made it so easy because they were already prepared with the house warm and little girlie things already laid out. This little girl already owns a bunch of tutu's. We were sweating hot by the time we were done, but Miss D was enjoying the warmth. Here are a few more pictures. Megan and Matt - Maternity Photoshoot

So I had the opportunity to meet Megan and Matt the other day and did a maternity photoshoot for them. Our first two scheduled shoots didn't happen because of all the spring rain, but we finally found the perfect evening to have the photoshoot. It was a perfect sunny evening after many days of rain and the weather was beautiful. Megan and Matt are expecting their first little one very soon and they have decided to keep everything a secret. They decided to not find out the gender of the baby and they are not telling anyone their names. How fun is that! What a big surprise it will be on the day this baby is born. Megan and Matt is was so nice to meet you and I hope you enjoy your pictures and treasure all the memories of expecting your first little one. Here are a few....

Judah - meaning "the praised one"

So I had the chance to go up to the hospital and see my new little nephew Judah. He is so incredibly cute. Unfortunately because of some circumstances during labor and delivery he had to be taken to the NICU. I didn't think I would get the opportunity to see him, but my sister took me down. It was my first time visiting a NICU. It was incredible. My nephew was the biggest baby in there. The tiny tiny little babies there shocked me. I couldn't believe how little and precious these babies were and how strong their parents must be. As I was there I kept thinking about my babies and how hard it would have been to not be able to have them with me. My arms yearned to hold my nephew even though he isn't even my child. I could never comprehend the yearning to hold my baby who I just gave birth to and not be able too. I give credit to every woman who has had to go through this or is going through this just like my sister. You are strong women! I could see the desire in my sister to hold her baby and to be a mother to him. You could see how much she loves him and wants to keep him with her. Whether you have gone through this for a week, a month or for months I give you credit as mothers and as fathers for being strong and loving. To all the NICU nurses and doctors, thank you for all your work and caring for these babies and for caring for my nephew.
Judah you are a loved baby! Your Auntie can't wait to have many snuggles and your cousins can't wait to play with you. I predict many wrestling matches in the "wrestling room" (that's what Josiah calls our livingroom) with your cousins. And I know your big sister is going to adore you!

Bryan and Jessica - Maternity Shoot - Part II

Okay so there are sooo many pictures from this photoshoot that I love. I think they turned out so great that I didn't even have the heart to turn any of them into black and white or sepia. I just love the lighting in the pictures and the wonderful colors. I am a huge fan of color in pictures and don't prefer to change the pictures into black and white or sepia unless I really think they would look better that way. I have been working on trying to capture the perfect lighting and I think I did a good job with that during this photoshoot. Bryan and Jessica were so much fun to take pictures with and were so relaxed. We had lots of laughs and I almost killed myself trying to climb a tree. I read somewhere a while ago that photographers will do anything to get that million dollar picture and this was my first chance at doing anything for a great picture. Luckily there were no broken bones and I got the picture I had envisioned. I had a hard time choosing which pictures to post so I picked quite a few. There won't be much of a surprise when I give you your CD with the pictures on them Jessica and Bryan, but I hope you enjoy looking at them on my blog.

Bryan and Jessica - Maternity Shoot

Meet Bryan, Jessica and their soon-to-be baby girl. I met Jessica at a mutual friends card making party a couple months ago and found out that she also attends our church. Jessica asked me to take her maternity pictures and I was honored too. We were scheduled to take them a few days before but I got the flu and it was pouring rain that day so we rescheduled and I am so thankful that we did. We had the most perfect weather and beautiful evening sunshine. I know they are anxious to see some pictures so I am going to post a couple of them. A few more pictures will be posted later, but for now here is a little sneak peak. I hope you like them Bryan and Jessica and I will post a few more as soon as I can.

Baby Abigail

So I came home for a few days to visit my parents in Sarnia and of course I had to visit with Jenn. We go way back to the good ole days of high school when we used to play hooky and go tanning, the gym and of course out for lunch at East Side Mario's. We used to dream of the future together and our plans and of course for both of us they included getting married and BABIES! Well now the future is here and we have our babies. Jenn has three and I have two so far. We always wanted to have a baby at the same time and lucky us, we got it! She had Abigail 4.5 months ago and I had my Luca 3 months ago. We got to be pregnant together. Of course she wasn't sick and I was sicker than a dog, but it was fun since we lived in the same city for most of our pregnancy. So when we got together today she asked me to take a few pictures of her little girl Abigail. She is such a cutie and a VERY happy baby. I don't think I have ever met such a happy little girl. She was so easy to take pictures of, I could have taken pictures of her forever. She is just so happy and content and easy. She also has the most beautiful big eyes. When she is older boys are going to go nuts as soon as she turns her beautiful big eyes on them. She is one lucky girl. I don't have my computer with me so I just have a little sneak peak of the pictures right now, but I will add some more once I get back to my computer. Darren and Jenn I hope you like them.

Baby Ella

Saturday morning I had the privilege of photographing baby Ella. She is so sweet with tons of hair. I don't think I have ever seen a baby with so much dark hair. She was a really good baby, but we could not get her to sleep. She must have sensed that something was going on. She reminded me of my baby boy who will not sleep if a camera is around. Because she couldn't get into a deep sleep it was hard to get her to stay in certain positions and she loved to suck her hands. But we got some good pictures. We even got big brother Kieran in a few pictures. Thanks Greg and Amanda for letting me take little Ella's pictures and I hope you enjoy them. Enjoy your little girl, she is beautiful. Welcome to my blog. I have wanted to create a blog for some time, but have never gotten around to it till now. This is a place where I will be sharing my photo's and stories with you. My passion is photography and over the past couple of years I have been learning and discovering what goes into taking great pictures. My passion for photography really started when I had my first little boy, Josiah, three years ago. I wanted to capture every minute of his precious life. I wanted to be able to remember all of his firsts, his first smile, his first taste of food, his first crawl and his first steps. To be completely honest, I have the worst memory in the world (its true, just ask my husband!) and I was worried that I wasn't going to remember what it was like to watch him grow. I felt that the best way to preserve those special moments in time were to capture them in photographs. I just had my second son a few months ago and feel the same way about capturing all the special memories with him. I especially love to photograph the special brother bond that has developed between my sons. My children are the best things I have done in my life and are a special gift from God that I cherish. As I grow old I look forward to being able to look back at all the special moments I have had with my family.
I have been learning as much as I can about photography and what makes a good photograph. Lighting and composition are the two skills I have been trying to master. I love using natural lighting as much as possible. Please feel free to take a look at my pictures that I will be posting and feel free to leave your comments. I like critics and opinions, it helps me learn and get better. I will be posting pictures of photoshoots that I have done and probably a lot of pictures of my family because they are my favorite subjects to take pictures of.
